Clinical Efficacy of Pirbuterol in Patients with Bronchial Asthma

Abstract
|
|
|
Pirbuterol, a new oral beta 2 selective bronchodilator was tested in 27 asthmatic patients. Pirbuterol, 30mg per day, was orally administered in three divided doses over 4 weeks. All patients were checked by two weeks interval (P.F.T., Auscultation and Clinical Findings).
The results are as follows:
l. Improvement of FEV1 is observed in 25 cases (92.6%).
2. Improvement is noted in 88.9% of cases with wheezing, 93.3% of cases with rhonchi and 88.9% ¢¥of cases with moist rales.
3. Side effects are not noted in all cases.
